Hey guys! It’s Rachelle, one third of the Casketteers. So I saw someone post this pic of me on one of the tumblr blogs and got a bit weirded out see my pic floating around but just to clear the air, I’ll let you know what’s the story behind the hug.
So, a little background info. I first got into Castle because of the pilot. It was witty and Nathan Fillion is a hoot but what really really got me was the storyline of Beckett’s mom’s unsolved case. That really struck home to me for very personal reasons that I rather not share. So I guess in some ways, Castle (the show), especially, the episodes regarding Beckett’s mom helped me get through some hard times.
When we saw Stana, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that would happen, let alone actually talk to her. So in the “seize the moment” vibe I had, I took a minute and told her everything about my struggle and what she and the writers and what the show has done for me. I got really emotional, I could barely look at her. I had so much anxiety, my hands were in my pockets the whole entire time and my feet were shuffling but Stana genuinely listened. I really appreciate that. I was trying so hard not to cry, not because she was there in front of me, but because of what I was telling her. Ivy and Rose, my fellow 2 other Casketteers even told me that I almost made her cry and that her vein on her forehead was sticking out, I couldn’t tell personally because I was so caught up. Next thing I knew, she pulled me in for a hug. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. It was so surreal. After that, I don’t really remember much.
I felt like I owed an explanation to you guys. A picture is worth 1000 words and well there ya go.
